Kevin and Catherine's Shower

Saturday was a busy day for us, after the boys swim in the pool we had to get ready for a wedding shower for Kevin and Catherine at the clubhouse in our neighborhood. Family and friends came to celebrate their upcoming wedding that is only a month away!

Hayden and Bryce went swimming for the first time at Grandpa and Nana's pool on Saturday (5/30). They were so cute with their little legs kicking the whole time they were in their floats and laughing. They stayed in the pool about 30 minutes because we had to get ready for Kevin and Catherine's shower, but it was just enough time to know that they really enjoyed theirselves and we can't wait to swim again this week. I think the boys thought they were in a giant bathtub! Their cousin, Cullen even came for a swim but Hayden and Bryce just watched him because they were already in dry clothes next time we might get all three of them in the pool at the same time.

Boating and weekend visitors

Well, today was the first day we got to take the boat out this season. It was a nice day, not the best because of the wind that made the water rough but it was nice. Brad's parents are in town so they got to go out with us while Hayden and Bryce stayed home with Nana and Grandpa.
Before heading out on the boat we also had a nice quick visit from Brad's cousins, Erin and Carrie that are in town for a weekend soccer tournament. It was a nice visit, but a very short one. Now we are home getting ready for dinner at Oscars with Brad's parents and the boys.

had to stay at home this time due to the rough waters...maybe next time guys!

My Next Car

I have found my next car...I want the new Volkswagen Routan. What a "cool" minivan...that is if minivans can be "cool". The Routan that is fully loaded is at such a reasonable price...two DVD players, AC outlets, adapters for the playstation, heated seats, GPS, satellite radio, camera for backing, automatic sliding dooors on both sides, in floor storage...wow! This is definitely what we need with the two boys! Brad's car and mine will both be paid off in December so I have been told I have to wait until then to get a new car. So, the countdown begins until December....

Sleeping Beauties

Yes, last night Hayden and Bryce slept through the night for the first time...Yahoo! It sort of scared me though because at 4:30am I woke up because I am use to waking up at 2am to feed the boys. So, once I convinced myself that they were ok I went back to sleep and the boys slept until 6:30am. Let's hope that wasn't a fluke and that the boys will continue to sleep through the night.

First Mothers Day

I know this post is almost a week late, but better late than never. My first Mother's Day was Sunday and it was wonderful! Brad made it extra special by taking the boys shopping with him on Saturday to buy mommy presents. The boys each bought me a Disney video, "Robin Hood" and "The Jungle Book" so I can watch them with them and Daddy bought mommy a really cool picture frame to put in her purse to show off pictures of the boys. The boys even "signed" their own Mother's Day cards (Brad tried tracing their hands on the cards). Saturday night Brad took me to dinner at Hanks and Sunday for lunch we went with the boys to Dog and Duck for lunch. Sunday we also went to spend the day with Grandpa and Nana...what a treat for all...mommy got to rest some while Nana and Grandpa got their "baby fix" for the day. Then Grandpa even cooked spaghetti for dinner. I got lots of cards from family and friends wishing me a happy first Mothers Day which was so special and made me feel loved so much (thank you everyone!). I was even more impressed that one of the cards was from Kevin and Catherine with Kevin signing his own name AND he called me on Mothers Day to wish me a happy Mothers Day (who would have thought Kevin would call me for that...what a wonderful surprise!).

The best part of my Mothers Day though was actually being a mommy to two such wonderful little boys! I could have never imagined loving two little guys so much. I thank God every day for them and for giving me such a wonderful gift!

Here we are on Mothers Day relaxing on the couch. Hayden is the one sprawled out across me and Bryce is snuggling in his favorite position in the arm. Such sweet little guys!

Two Month Checkup

Today the boys went for their two month checkup, with the two month checkup came measurements and weighing. Today Hayden weighed 11 lbs. 9 oz., was 23 1/4 inches long, and his head was 39cm...he was in the 50th percentile for weight, height, etc. Bryce weighed 9 lb. 15 oz., was 22 1/2 inches long, and his head was 38 1/4 cm...he was in the 25th percentile for weight, height, etc. After the measuring and the routine checkup by Doctor Rodgers, the boys had to get three shots and an oral vaccine. They did really good with the shots and didn't cry until the end for a few minutes, so mommy and daddy held them and made them feel better. Since we've gotten home, they have been sleeping (11am-2:30pm). Hopefully they will be in good spirits the rest of the afternoon. Next doctors appointment is in July for their 4 month checkups.

Also, got a phone call from the daycare that we wanted to put them in and they have two slots coming open in July! YEA!!! So, Hayden and Bryce will officially be enrolled in The Toybox daycare July 13th. At least with me putting them in daycare then, it will give me a chance to get adjusted to them going to daycare and that way I won't cry all day at work the first week they go.

Hayden (L) and Bryce (R) after their shots...notice the bandaids on their thighs...poor little guys.

Attack of the Killer Diaper!

This is what happens when you open the side of Hayden's diaper to "check and see if it is dirty". Poor Aunt Sibby, she was the first that he did this to when she was babysitting Saturday night. He wasn't finished with his business yet and blew it out the side of the diaper right onto her!

Note to other future babysitters: either bring a change of clothes with you or don't open the side of the diaper! LOL! :-)

Today we went to have lunch with Melissa, Amelia, Henry and Hudson.
Another very nice lunch with a "whole lotta babies". It's hard to believe that the four babies are now two months old and that Amelia will be three in August!

Adventures in Babysitting

Aunt Sibby and my cousin, Megan offered to babysit for us so that Brad and I could have some time out by ourselves. Here are a few pictures from their babysitting adventures. We are so lucky to have such great family members to help us out and watch the boys when we need a break. Aunt Donna even comes from Savannah to help us out when we need it...what lifesavers they are! We love you!!

8 Weeks Old tomorrow

Hayden (left) and Bryce (right)

Time sure does fly! The boys will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. They are finally starting to grow some hair back since they lost all that they had, they are eating about 6 oz of milk each time they eat during the day and are only waking up one time during the night and then sleeping until about 8am each morning. I keep thanking my lucky stars that they are such good babies. We go next week for our two month check up, so that means lots of shots and getting weighed again. As you can tell, I have been somewhat bored lately so there are lots of pictures of the boys. Walgreens loves me since develop so many pictures!

What Grandpa's do best!

When my dad comes to visit the boys, this is generally what happens...grandpa falls asleep with someone in his arms. Here's Grandpa Sunday with Hayden sound asleep in the recliner. I don't know who enjoys it more, the boys or grandpa.
