What a week it has been...Shane and I have tackled and fought with more kids at school than you can imagine. Shane swears it is because I have been wearing skirts and dresses so, he has forbid me from wearing anything but pants to work for the rest of the school year. It is so funny how superstitious we as educators are. :-)
Now...on to the loooooonnnnnnggggg weekend!

What a loooonnnngggg day it has been
Well, the morning did not start off too well...I went to leave for work and my car would not crank. So, I of course went in to get my wonderful husband and let him jump start my car. I drove to Tupperway Tires where I let them check out the car and to the tune of $139.07 I got a new battery in the car and was only about an hour late to work. We got a new student today from Harleyville and to say the least, he was something else. He could not take the PACT test with the class and it had to be given to him in a one on one setting with me as the proctor and the head principal as my monitor. What an adventure it was as the child who has obviously been mislabeled tried to take the PACT test and continued to talk, fart, fart, and talk some more. Yes, these are the days of my life. After I finished with him, one of my "angels" in thid grade became disruptive and had to be removed from his class as they were taking PACT. So...I administered another round of the PACT math test this time with our administrative intern as my monitor. The day progressed and finally I was on my way home when the car decided that the RPMs would rev up and down turning the car off a few times. So...I made it to Tupperway Tires just as they were closing so they would have my car to work on in the morning. I sat patiently waiting on my hubby to come rescue me from Ladson Road and take me for some Chinese. Now I am sitting at home relaxing from the looooonnnnngggg day I had. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! :)

Change is Good
Well, as many of you know I am not a big fan of changes when they first happen but eventually think they are the best things that could happen. A new chapter in my life is unfolding yet once again...I will be leaving Eagle Nest Elementary and moving to Dubose Middle School as the new 7th grade administrator for next year. I originally thought I would be with 6th grade, but went to visit the school today and it was confirmed that 7th grade will be my new home for the 2008-2009 school year. I am very excited now about the change and even more since I went and sat down to talk with Mr. Farrell, the principal and the other two assistants that I will be work with. They seem like a great group of people and I look forward to being there with their team. More to come I'm sure.

Well, I enjoy reading Melissa's blog and finally brke down and have decided to make one of my own. Now, friends and family that do not have myspace or facebook can keep up with our adventures/misadventures.
